People in the PVC flooring industry should take a look at the rationality of construction costs
Since the application of PVC flooring in China in 1998, it has been 17 years. Over the past 17 years, the overall cost of PVC flooring construction has been on a downward trend. How much construction cost is reasonable for installing elastic flooring per square meter?
This question may sound complicated, but it's actually quite simple - calculating labor productivity. Elastic flooring, whether it is rubber blocks, rubber rolls, PVC blocks, PVC rolls, or linen rolls, has not undergone revolutionary changes in installation processes, techniques, or tools worldwide in the past 30 years. It still relies on simple mechanical manual labor. There cannot be revolutionary changes in the next thirty years, it is still the manual labor of craftsmen. So, there cannot be a significant improvement in labor productivity, and the floor area laid by each person every day is a basically constant quantity.
The author has been in the industry for 18 years, and I remember the algorithm used by the construction team owner to calculate labor costs. On average, each worker can do 20 square meters per day (12 centimeters for hospitals, roll materials on walls), or 30 square meters for edge tiling. Since last year, the author has consulted multiple construction teams, covering high, medium, and low-end construction forces. The conclusion drawn is that the weather and construction environment are completely ideal. The hospital has a wall of 12 centimeters, and on average, one person can work up to 22-23 square meters per day. This is the per capita labor efficiency in the spring and autumn seasons, under completely idealized conditions with no cross construction. If not so ideal, the hospital would only have an average daily workload of 20 square meters per person.
Whether it is high-end or low-end construction teams, the per capita salary has hardly changed. The average daily salary of 300 yuan per person for skilled workers and small workers is currently the average level in China.
If the salary is 300 yuan per person and 25 square meters are produced per day, the cost of wages per square meter is 12 yuan. If the salary is 300 yuan per person and 20 square meters are produced per day, the cost of wages per square meter is 15 yuan. This is a mandatory and indispensable payment, and if not paid, the criminal law has a charge: the crime of maliciously delaying labor remuneration.
Even if the labor cost per square meter is 12 yuan, what about the tools? Tools are consumable, including grinding discs, sandpaper, brooms, cutting tools, welding guns, heating tubes, self-leveling tools, scrapers, all of which incur costs. In addition, the depreciation of tools such as grinding machines and slotting machines results in a tool cost of at least 1.5 yuan per square meter. The travel and hospitality expenses of the construction team owner can be calculated as 1 yuan per square meter, while the travel time and travel expenses of the workers can be calculated as 1 yuan. This results in a cost of 15.5 yuan per square meter, which is calculated without any profit.
Some construction teams boldly advance funds (labor and auxiliary materials) to take on projects due to the support of auxiliary material manufacturers, which also includes bad debt costs (due to construction quality issues).
Almost every project has maintenance, even if it takes one square meter to repair, someone needs to be sent, and sending someone is at least 300 yuan per day. Why can we afford to pay 12 yuan or even 11 yuan per square meter for hospital construction at such a high cost?
Since it is a handmade process, whether it strictly follows the specifications or not, it is elastic space.
